WÄRTSILÄ - ENGINES AND GENERATING SETS, GEARS, PROPELLERS AND THRUSTERS

Wärtsilä is The Ship Power Supplier. Wärtsilä provides engines, propulsion and manoeuvring solutions for all types of marine vessels and offshore applications. The product portfolio covers the product names - Wärtsilä, Sulzer, Lips, Deep Sea Seals and JMT.

WÄRTSILÄ MEDIUM-SPEED ENGINES AND GENERATING SETS

Wärtsilä medium-speed engines with cylinder bores from 200mm to 640mm cover the power range of 0.5MW to 23MW. The Wärtsilä medium-speed engines and generating sets cover the power needs for all types of vessels and offshore applications. Wärtsilä medium-speed engines provide benefits such as:

  • Proven reliability
  • Low emissions
  • Low operating costs
  • Multi-fuel capability

Wärtsilä gas and dual-fuel engine portfolio comprises reliable and innovative multi-fuel engines from 1.5MW - 17.5MW providing high efficiency, low exhaust gas emissions and safe operation.

WÄRTSILÄ LOW-SPEED ENGINES

Wärtsilä RTA and RT-flex series engines with cylinder bores from 480mm to 960mm cover the power range of 5MW to 80MW. Wärtsilä RT-flex engines have common-rail systems with integrated electronically controlled fuel injection, exhaust valve actuation and starting air. In addition to the proven benefits of the RTA engines, the RT-flex engines offer:

  • No visible smoke at any running speed
  • Lower steady running speeds
  • Reduced maintenance requirements
  • Improved part-load fuel economy
  • Added redundancy for greater safety

WÄRTSILÄ GEARS

Wärtsilä gears have been designed to meet the highest standards of operational efficiency, reliability, low noise and vibration. The gears can be supplied with built in multidisc clutches, featuring:

  • Single input, single output gears with vertical or horizontal offsets of the shafts
  • Twin input single output gears with up to 3.8m horizontal offsets

WÄRTSILÄ CP AND FP PROPELLERS

For ships with frequent port calls, Wärtsilä CP propellers are the ideal choice that offer superior manoeuvrability, saving ship time and tug cost.

The Wärtsilä FP propeller is the choice when superior propeller efficiency, reliability and robustness are required.

Wärtsilä propellers guarantee superior propeller efficiency, reliability and minimum noise and vibration levels due to tailor-made designs with the latest available technology for all ship types.

WÄRTSILÄ THRUSTERS

Wärtsilä provides steerable thrusters for offshore, sea going and tug applications in modular, retractable, underwater mountable and containerised designs in fixed pitch and controllable pitch executions. Features include:

  • Tailored hydrodynamic designs based on wide experience with propulsion systems
  • Bearing concepts based on heavy duty applications
  • Unique procedures and solutions available for mounting the thrusters underwater even in higher sea states
  • High efficiency nozzles for improved performance
  • Available up to 7MW

Wärtsilä transverse thrusters increase independence of the ship; achieving economy of operation with:

  • Maximum thrust with the smallest possible tunnel diameter
  • High skew propeller blades - minimizing cavitation, vibration and noise
  • Propeller ranging up to 3.0m diameter; power supply up to 3.5MW
  • Arrangement options; vertical or horizontal, with or without engine support, extension shaft, mountable, low-noise/mountable
